One Day in Disneyland

On Tuesday morning we woke up got dressed as fast as we could and headed to Disneyland. It was a great day to go. The weather was perfect, and the lines were really short. Honestly I didn't wait in one line the whole day. I didn't ride a lot either, but the is a whole other story.

When we first got there we went right for Pirates of the Caribbean walked right on. Eli had been missing me a lot so he sat on my lap in the wheel chair instead of his stroller and on my lap during the ride. He was not scared, however he wanted my arms wrapped around him. If I moved that to point at something he would quickly grab my arm and wrap it back around him. Then off to Haunted Mansion Eli liked this one the same, and wanted me to hold him the same. It was so cute he just looked big eyed at everything. To speed this up I will just tell you all he did....not the order. We went to Toon town went through Mickey's house, took a picture with Mickey, road the Carousal he really loved that he talked and smiled the whole time. He rod toad wild ride, this one was a little hard for me however Eli enjoyed driving. We headed over to California Adventure where he went on all the rides in it's a Bugs Life, and he watched the movie. I think the movie was his favorite part. When the water gets splashed on your face I heard he giggle...what a cutie! I honestly didn't even watch the show I just watched his face through all of that. We did the Nemo Sub ride honestly I hated that ride it seemed so long and it was really boring. Eli seemed to loose interest too, maybe that is why I didn't like it. One of my favorite with Jacob is the Buzz Lighyear ride, so I was really excited when I saw that Eli could ride it. Man the kid loved it I let him shoot, and spin us around. He liked it so much the first time I took him on it again with Aly!

Eli also rode it's a small world. He was less interested in the ride once he saw there was water on the side. He would reach over get some and splash it on his dad he thought that was the best!

Jacob got his Turkey leg like always. He loved it and so did Eli!

I tried to last until the fireworks but honestly at one point I thought I was going to pass out in my wheelchair. So I left with my parents and Eli. While Jacob stayed with the Gilmore's. He had a blast and seemed so happy, and so did Eli. We were going to try and stay another day, but since we did so much the first day Jacob used some major skills and got one day's money back form Disneyland which 3 times they already told us they wouldn't do!! Way to go Jacob!! As you can tell it was a crazy wild trip, but we made it, loved it, and made some wonderful memories.

Gilmore's Beach

So on the day I thought I was just sick, and I was just trying to relax my family went on with their plans. My parents took Eli and boy did that little guy have the time of his life! It started off with brunch at some place. Stephanie told me it was a buffet and that they for sure lost money on Eli. The little guy just loved all the food and ate right up! After Brunch they headed to the beach. I was told that Eli really loved the water and would run right to it. My mom said that for 20 minutes straight he just laughed, and laughed jumping the waves with Jerel. I am so sad I missed it, but so glad Eli got to have to much fun with he cousins.

Loosing my Appendix

So my plan was each night to sit down write about that day, and then it would be easier to update the blog about our wonderful trip to California. Huh if only it were that simple.
Right after writing my last post Jacob and my mom left for the movies. My dad and I stayed back to feed and play with Eli. I kept saying how my stomach has been hurting really bad and I should probably eat something so I don’t get sicker. (this is the thought while prego) anyway my dad and I head off to look for food. Since Jacob had the car we walked and carried Eli looking for someplace to eat. Carrying Eli was becoming very hard for me since I was getting so sick and feeling horrible. My dad’s phone rings and it is my mom telling us they are on their way back that something happened with the movie and that the Gilmore’s were on their way back too so we would all head to dinner together. Just as we were finishing up the call I said I have to go no sooner then I closed the phone did I start throwing up on the side of the road. Eli did NOT like this. As I am throwing up one of the most painful times of my life I hear my little guy so worried about me telling Papa to help me. We tried to hurry back to the hotel however I got sick again and had to stop and throw up some more. Now we are basically sprint walking through the hotel to the room so that I can be in one of the hotel rooms.

When Jacob gets back I tell them I am far too sick to go out, and I think should drink a sprite and go to bed. My mom and dad helped watch Eli while Jacob got them all food and me some sprite. Jacob was my hero at this point (as well as my parents) they all went into service mode and took great care of Eli and me. I went to sleep and had a horrible night. I kept throwing up or very painfully dry heaving and I had this horrible pain in my stomach. The next morning we were supposed to go to Church, Sunday Brunch, and then hang out at this pretty beach. I did not feel up to it, so my parents took Eli and Jacob stayed back with me. My parents were so sweet they would send pictures messages of Eli throughout the day so we at least go to see a little bit of what they were doing.

As the day went on I did not start feeling better. I kept my food down that afternoon however I realized that the pain in my stomach was really bad and we started to wonder if it was something else other then morning sickness. We called Adam and he was wonderful he just worked a 12 hour shift, but got off work and drove over an hour to Irvine to come and check me out. He had concern that it might be my appendix and loaded us up for the hospital right away. Looking back on this I think Adam did I wonderful job. He stayed really calm and jokingly told me to grab a change of clothes and my toothbrush. He pretty much knew I would be staying for a while but did a wonderful job at keeping us both calm. Oh man was a I glad Adam was there!!! I received VIP treatment. Instead of waiting hours in the ER we got right in and right to a bed in less than 45 minutes. I know getting a bed that fast is a huge deal. After the ER doc looked at me he thought that same thing that is was my appendix however they were having a hard time being sure for a few reasons. One pregnancy makes it very hard to diagnose since the symptoms are similar, two since I was pregnant it was very bad for me to get a CT which is the quickest way to see if the Appendix is inflamed, and three I was not acting or looking super sick or in pain unless someone pushed on me hard.

Anyway after sitting for a while with Jacob and Adam they took me away to do blood test and an ultra sound to check the baby and try to see the Appendix. So I guess the hospital just got two new fancy machines over $350,000 and these ladies we trying it out on me. It was nice because they tried really hard to get a good picture for the Dr, and the Surgeons. (Basically the surgeons’ wanted nothing to do with me since I was pregnant.) The ladies had to push really hard to get a good enough picture that hurt, but it really hurt when they would remove the pressure entirely. They kept asking me if I had taken any pain meds. I pretty much figured from what they were saying and from their questions that I for sure needed to get my appendix out. When I got back to my room Jacob was not back yet from dinner with Adam, but the Dr did confirm my fears and told me I had to get surgery and that I would be going in hopefully in the next couple of hours. He also told me that since the baby was so small and young I had a chance of losing the baby. Jacob came back at this point and the doctor filled him in. Jacob was a great source of comfort for me. I was trying my hardest from not bawling my eyes out, and I know Jacob knew this. He just spoke very calm and comforted me. He basically took charge and made it clear everything was going to be fine. When we were alone he gave me a blessing and really helped me even more.

After a couple of hours I was all prepped and off to surgery. Since I am pregnant they could not give me all the meds they normally give someone so I was fully aware of them poking and moving me around preparing me to go under. I remember thinking at one point I really really hope I got to sleep soon I don’t want to remember this. Right then I honestly started realizing that I felt like I was choking and I couldn’t breathe. I soon realized it was the gas putting me out, and the room went black fast. The next thing I remember was people trying to wake me up and keep me still while I fought them telling them I had to go to the bathroom. Then I pretty much passed out again.

The after math…
The next morning around 5am Jacob and my mother came by to check on me. I remember saying I was in pain, and them getting the nurse. Then I remember not caring they were there, and sleeping. Jacob later told me this was funny because I was moving then the second the Morphine his me I went totally limp and asleep.
Around 7 every hour a new doctor would come in repeat was happened what the plan was and then leave. I swear like 5 came. Around 9 my parents came with Jacob. My mom looked really worried I guess the night before after the surgery I looked really bad, and she was really happy to see I had some color back in my face. I was sad at this point because they told me Eli was back with the Gilmore’s getting ready to go to Disneyland without me!! I laid down the law so Eli would still have fun, but that I wouldn’t miss too much. While they were there the Gilmore’s sent a text with a picture of Eli sucking on a vanilla frappacino and looking so happy. This made me feel better. Then they left. Jacob said he would be back in a few hours.
The next part of my day sucked. However they did finally let me leave around noon. Since we did not have the car we had to take a shuttle back to our hotel. Jacob was again wonderful helping with everything. My dad showed up took me to get some clothes better for my stomach and food. Then they dropped me off at the hotel. Jacob went to the movies, I slept and my dad went back to Disneyland.

Things I shouldn’t forget…

  • Right before I went into surgery Jacob thought it would be funny to send a text to his whole family. The text said something like “We’re in California Stacy’s going into surgery tonight keep her in your prayers.” of course Linda is calls several times, then Ben and Allison however the best was Daniel he responded with, “Okay brother, I’ll say a prayer for her.

  • Jacob not only was really funny to calm be down but he was kind, tender and very supportive. I know I married a very talented and gifted man. Yet he still surprises me with how amazing he is. I thought Jacob would be grouchy or mad or even have a hard time taking care of me. He NEVER complained was always helpful, spoke so kind, was always smiling, and just tried his best to help me. He was amazing!!!

  • My parents were amazing too. They basically took all of Eli’s stuff into their room and took care of him for us. That way Jacob only had to worry about me and I only had to worry about getting better. Jacob and I both said about 12 times how lucky we were that they were there.

  • This one I hated was when they would talk about the baby in my tummy. They always called it a fetus and really acted like it was not a person. I think clearly they are wrong when you watch the ultra sound seeing the baby move, and watching it’s little heart beat. It is clearly a person. It really concerned me that they spoke like this I was worried it was their excuse not to worry about the baby. However later a few of the doctor told me they had little ones at home which made me feel better that they would take care of my little baby.

Oh yeah!!
I almost forgot. The day I got out my Appendix Eli went with my family. He loved the Churro's, and went he went to a Bugs life that have this splash park. My mom and dad told me people would just stop to watch him. I guess he was supper funny and cute about it. When my mom went to pick him up and take him out and lady said please don't he is being so cute. I know I missed some really cute memories, but at least he had a good time, and someone who loves him a lot was there to remember and tell us all about it. Thanks Mom and Dad!! Oh I just love this little boy! These are pictures of when he got back he was so happy to see us, however look at how tired he was from all the fun!

The story all summed up....

I think the saying goes I left my heart in San Fransisco in my case I left my Appendix in Irvine.

We are in Cali!

So yesterday at noon we took off from my parents house headed for California for a family trip to Disneyland. The plan was to leave around Eli's nap time he would sleep for two hours, then once he woke up we would pull over for lunch let him play for a little bit and then head on the road again trying to get as far as we could before he lost it. So at noon Jacob, Eli, Jeff and Vickie and myself all loaded up and took off. Eli feel asleep a few minutes before we left however he woke up in BUCKEYE. Jacob was starving so we pulled over and ate. When I looked at the clock we had been traveling for an hour and we only in Buckeye. We turned on the portable DVD and took off. Eli was so good he just let us drive for about 2 1/2 hours before we pulled over to let him walk around and play. Then we hoped in the car and drove the rest of the way. I have to say it went very smoothly.

Today we woke up and headed to Huntington Beach to eat breakfast at the Sugar Shack. I love that place. I ate their once a few years ago, and have always wanted to go back. Jacob used to travel to Cali for work all the time so whenever he was near by I would tell him to eat there. Anyway we drove there had breakfast, walked around the boardwalk, bought Jacob a coat, bought some Carmel apples then headed back towards the hotel. Eli loved the area he just sat in his stroller pointed and things and loved it. He liked looking at the fish, and looking at the birds. I kept thinking if he likes this so much he is going to go crazy at Disneyland! The rest of the day we ran a few errands, and relaxed and had fun. Currently the Gilmore's are at Knot's Berry Farm having a blast, Jacob and my mom went to a movie, and my dad and I are at the hotel watching Eli.

10 weeks

So today I went to doctor Huish to get my 1st check up with the new little one. I was so excited for this appointment because it meant two things. First that I would start telling people about the baby and that I would get a due date since I am not entirely sure on that one. (I was still nursing Eli so things were not fully back to normal) Any after my check up doctor Huish wanted me to come back and get an ultra sound to check for a more accurate due date. He thought I might be around 12 weeks which was math that I didn't come up with so I got excited thinking I was further along then I thought. I went back for the ultra sound at 2:30 and found out I am a little over 10 weeks and little closer to 11 weeks, AND SUPER EXCITED. So Jacob and I will be welcoming the 4th member of our family on or sometime around JUNE 5TH!!

Things I want to remember:
  • When I received my 1st check up with Eli they could not hear the heart beat. This time tada Dr. Huish found it and it was so wonderful to hear.
  • It was nice having an ultrasound so early because for some reason with this baby it was hard for me to believe it was in there. I was so excited and happy to see it's cute little body. I swear it already looks like Eli!
  • This baby right now looks exactly like a little Kidney bean this little nubs sticking out! Oh such a cute Kidney bean!

Halloween Day

Halloween day was very eventful for us. It started off with a yard sale at the Gilmore's. We decided we wanted to sale a few things so we loaded them up and headed over there. Brett Brewer who is my cousin and also my sister's neighbor was selling some quads, and bikes. Near the end of the sale Brett turned them on and we all were riding them around. One of the bikes was this small dirt bike for kids. Brett turned it on and let Jacob take it for a spin. Before Jacob reached the end of the driveway I heard Brett say, "Oh no he crashed." I saw out of the corner of my eye Jacob on the ground with the bike. The next thing I know he stand up and the bike is reeving and going in circles and Jacob is holding on for dear life. Finally it stops and crashes into some of the Gilmore's bush's. I later asked Jacob what happened and he said that when he feel he lost hold of the brakes and all he was holding onto was the gas so that is why it is was going to crazy!! The best part of this story is my mom was holding Eli and they were actually pretty close to Jacob when he crashed. Eli saw the whole thing and in the middle of it my mom said Eli said "Uh Oh!"

After the garage sale we just did our regular Saturday stuff. My mom was not feeling well so I went to her house and made her some soup. Eli was acting like he wasn't feeling good either. When he saw my mom's soup he was very excited and ate the entire bowl. We were supposed to met at the Gilmore's at 6 pm. I was worried he should not go out, but I figured if he didn't like it I could just leave so I decided to take Eli. I am so glad I did. I knew he would love all the kids around, but I never knew how much he would like all the other stuff. We started off by just handing out the candy at the Gilmore's with Jerel. Their set up in really scary, Jerel even wears a really scare mask. They have a strobe light, and scary music too. Anyway some of the music that plays howls like a wolf. Eli when he would hear that would howl. Then sometimes when he would see the kids coming up to the door, you would hear Eli say, "Boo!" HE LOVED IT.

I then decided he was feeling fine so we went with the kids over into another neighborhood in their ward. There they had some really neat blow up decorations in their yard. Eli looked at them a lot and ran around with all the kids. He tried his best to keep up with all of them. Sometimes when he would fall really behind I would see him start running. It was so cute. Near the end of the night Steph drove the kids to some houses of people we knew and Eli loved smiling and talking to all the people outside the car window. We ended the night with Eli finding Ethan's bucket of candy. He tried to chew through some rappers, but I took them away and just gave him some Tootsie Rolls. Before I knew it he was fast asleep on my chest holding onto a Reese's rapper, and the candy bucket. Halloween was so much fun this year. I just know it is going to get better and better the older Eli gets!!

P.S Jacob stayed home at out house and passed out candy too all the kids. He said a good number showed up!
