July 4th Weekend

We had a wonderful July 4th weekend! It started on Friday morning when we packed to leave but did not get on the road until 12:30!! Jacob and I couldn't believe how long it took us to get out packed. We got to the cabin that evening and meet up with the Gilmore's, Whatcott's and Brewer's. We unpacked, relaxed, ate dinner, visited and went to bed pretty early because we planned on leaving early for the Show Low parade. We woke up that morning and told Eli we were going to the parade. So every once and a while you would hear Eli go Yeah Parade and raise his fist in the air. We made it to the parade just as it was starting and had such a wonderful time. Eli LOVED all the food he got. Honestly I don't think Eli has ever had so much candy in his life! Eli would dance when ever music was playing and even started running out when the candy was thrown. However this did confuse him because he did start trying to eat everything off the ground. He did not understand why some things were ok and others were not. Liam hated the parade because the wind kept blowing and he would scream every time there was a gust. After the parade we went to lunch, saw the new Twilight movie Eclipse played some kick ball and then headed to Heber for some fireworks. The fireworks were a challenge because Eli wanted to walk but couldn't on all the rocks so he was getting grumpy. Then they start so late for little kids that he started to get grumpy. He did like them for a little bit and then decided he had enough.

The next day we got up and all the adults had a nice fun visit then everyone but out family went to the lake. Liam didn't like the wind and we didn't want to fight Eli about trying to jump in the lake so we stayed back. We all took nice long naps and really really enjoyed that. Then when we got up we went for a walk down by the creek and let Eli play. After the walk everyone was back so they started to take rides on the Whatcott's buggy. Everyone seemed to like that until the wheel flew off!! That night we had a lot of fun. We played pranks on the kids told them I could hypnotize them and this chair trick where they fall down. It was so funny and all the kids were good sports! Then we wrapped up the night with a dance party. We did not go to bed until after midnight....which doesn't sound late, but when we you are two and have a new born that is almost like staying up all night!! We had so much fun and look forward to another fun trip again.
