 A year and a half ago this monkey tried to get Eli...he's still holding a grudge.

Milwakee Day 2

Today we went on another fun adventure with the Malnar's. In the morning we took our time getting up and relaxing then after eating lunch we decided to take a little road trip to the Jelly Belly factory. I am not a huge fan of Jelly beans, but it was a lot of fun to go and look around the boys. Really enjoyed getting the hats, and taking the tour riding the Jelly train. I don't have any pictures of the actual tour, because you are not allowed to use your camera. However after the tour you can go into the sampling room and have as many samples as you want. They have every flavor they make which is fun. Plus they even had the yucky flavors which are funny to try. There was a booger one which Allison and I tried to get the Eli and Jacob to eat, but they wouldn't. The girls however thought it was funny and they tried it. Allison and I thought it was funny that the boys who pick their nose and eat it wouldn't eat the booger flavored jelly beans. After having a few samples we let each kid put a little bit of their favorites in a bag and then they got to take those home too. We had a wonderful time at the Jelly Belly factory. The rest of the day we spent hanging out at the Malnar's house. Their yard is great and the kids had so much fun.

Milwalkee day 1

I call this day one because it's a first full day in in Milwaukee. We actually got in yesterday and played and had such a good time. This is our first full day in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee is one of our favorite zoos. They have everything and their exhibits are awesome. So obviously whenever we visit the Malnar's we also visit the zoo. Since New York was a lot of walking and Allison had a wild week before we got there we were all pretty tired before we even started. We didn't stay as long as we usually do so we hit up our favorite spots first. We saw all the monkey's and tried to see if that one Baboon would try and get Eli again. There were a lot of people around so he never really saw Eli. I guess we will just try again. After all the primates we headed to the Aquarium part. This part still amazes me with how big some of the fresh water fish can get. The boys were impressed too. In the summer the zoo has a dinosaur exhibit. We have been to it before but the boys were too little to really remember so it was like going for the first time again. Eli seriously thought they were all real so when we saw the T Rex he wouldn't move until he looked up and then we took off. Then we got to the spitting dinosaur Liam loved this one. Once it spit at him he started spitting back and roaring at it. Eli was scared then when he saw what he brother was doing he joined in.  Once we went through at the end they show how all the dinosaurs are fake. I asked Eli if they were were or fake and he said the other ones were real and only this on was a robot. Some of the kids wanted to look at the beginging again so we went around and Eli again looked at some of the "real" Dinosaurs. He then came up to me and said. "mom these are robots too. I know this because they move like this." (and he moved like a robot.) He said. "see they move like that robot we saw at the end. Mom these are all fake!!" It is so fun to see their little minds work and learn.

 We did walk around some more exhibits but we were all getting pretty tired so we were going to leave then the little tram that takes you around the whole zoo just randomly showed up so we figured we would take a ride on that. We all hopped on and saw everything else we didn't see. We even stopped by the bears (one of Jacob's favorites) so I quickly snapped a picture.

At a Yogurt place called YO Mama can you tell baby girl is making this Mama eat the weirdest things. Chocolate chip ice creme, captain crunch, Cookie dough chunks and Boba balls. So weird but so good.

 Serendipity got us a banana split and frozen hot choclate.

 The boys tried for hours to catch a brid or squirrel. Finally a nice lady came up with a bag of nuts. From then on the boys feed dozens of squirrels right from there hangs! They were so excited.

Dinner at Skyline park with Grace. It's a park 3 stories up. eli wanted Daddy to think he was flying. Little man joined in. did I mention I LOVE Grace.

New York Day 4

This morning the boys and I woke up for another adventurous day and our last day in NYC. Our day started out with us heading to breakfast. Then it was off to FAO Swartz. I remember my mothering taking me there when I was little and me just freaking out loving it so very much. So I was very excited to share a memory like this with my boys.  As we got off the subway I noticed the weather wasn't looking so friendly and then within seconds it just started pouring on us. We ran for cover and found a space in front of an apartment building. We basically set up camp and watch the street flood with water. I remember being happy the rain was finally cooling off the hot weather, but it just kept coming down so hard with thought we would spend out whole day there. 

 We did have a lot of fun snacking and giggle with each other but we figured we could find a nearby diner and get some coco and stuff while we waited out the storm. So off we went running in the pouring rain. Liam hated it and screamed the whole time. Eli on the other hand saw it as an adventure. Lucky for us we found a diner pretty close and didn't get too wet. 

 We stayed in the diner and about half way through the rain stopped so we thought it was safe to head off to the toy store. Davina had some things to do to get ready for her class that night so she went to the park and we went to the Toy store. The boys and I had so much fun walking around and exploring. We went through the Lego section in honor of daddy, the boys played a long time with some plastic knights and horses. We made our way to the book section where it was story time. We stayed there for a while and really enjoyed ourselves. We finished off the toy store by playing on the giant piano. I showed the boys how to run and slide and they would try that a lot. It was super cute.

 We had to leave the store and head to our reservations at Serendipity. We quickly meet up with Davina and barely made it for our reservations. None of us were hungry, but we HAD to try the desserts. I knew my boys would go crazy over the frozen hot chocolate, and the banana split so we ordered those. Davina had never been there before so she and the boys really enjoyed this treat.  We all just sat back relaxed at had fun. Since it was out last day I really wanted to squeeze in central park. 

We quickly took off to make it to the park before Davina had to leave for her class. When we finally made it to the park Eli fell asleep. I was bummed but figured we could still have fun anyway. In New York it is fun because they have tons of squirrels everywhere, NOT something you see in Arizona. So Liam would run around trying to catch them.  After a while I got Eli to wake up and he started to join Eli in the great adventure of trying to catch a squirrel he started off by just running at them. Then he would hold still and trying and get them to come up to him then jump on them. After a while I pulled out some of our snacks and he tried to lure them to him. We got close a few times but never really got any super close to us. Davina had to leave for her class to Eli had a little break down when he realized we were leaving and he hadn't caught a squirrel. 

We rush to meet Grace at another park. We were going to hang out with Grace while Davina was at her class and Grace would help with ilia. At this other park there were squirrels. So the boys started out on their adventure again. This time we meet this really nice old lady and she had two bags full of nuts that she shared with us. At this point the boys had a blast just feeding dozens of squirrels right out of their hands. I know I am probably a bad mom for letting them get to close to these animals, but they loved it and I loved watching them.  Davina left and shortly Grace got there so we headed off t o a park grace wanted to show us called Skyline park. It was a park about 4 stories up and basically in between buildings in the sky. We grabbed some food and enjoyed our evening at this park. This park out say is very adult not really for kids, but it was super cool and we loved learning about it. I for sure want to come back with Jacob someday. It is pretty romantic....not so romantic with a 4 year old and a 2 year old.  After the park we meet up with Davina and then headed home that was the end of our great NYC adventure. We loved it and had an AMAZING time.
