The Elf on the Shelf

Last night Santa stopped by our house and dropped off a little guest. He is Santa's little spy and watches everyone in the house all day long. Then at night time he fly's back to the North Pole where he reports back to Santa about who was naughty and who was nice. Then he fly's back before we wake up and hides in a new spot and watches us again that day. We are not allowed to touch him or he will loose his Christmas magic. He is not allowed to talk to us that is Santa's rule, however we can talk to him and tell him the things that we would like Santa to bring. He is our special family Elf and he even came with his own book to tell us all about him. He did not come with a name so we have to name him right now we are thinking about maybe Alabaster, or Tril. Or we might just wait until next year and name him when Eli is just a little older. For now he is the Elf and he is watching!

Eli seems to like him however he is still curious about this little guy. Eli wants to touch him all the time so the Elf has been hiding in high up places. Plus Eli gets that it is Jesus' birthday and isn't sure who this Santa is.

What a fun tradition you are starting with this little elf...wish he had been around when my children were small.
