Ouchie

Saturday mornings I usually spend with my mother. We run around doing whatever we need to do that weekend, then she leaves to work at the temple and I go home to spend time with my husband. This Saturday we were going to be watching the Gilmore while Steph and Jerel caught a session at the temple, so I had a full day planned. My mom and I ran to Wal mart to get some plants for some pots, and some toys for the sand for Eli. My car couldn't fit everything so my dad came and got some of it, and we headed to my parents house. Eli feel asleep so I figured I would leave the car on while I unloaded then just head home. As I got out of the car I closed my left ring finger in the door!

Not only did I close it, but I closed it so much that I had to reopen the car door to even get it out. I called to my parents for help. I was hunched over in pain and then rain over in a panic thinking something was wrong with the baby. I quickly showed them my finger which was quickly filling up with blood. We decided I needed to go to Urgent Care. My mom took me and my dad stayed to take care of Eli. One the way to Urgent Care I called Jacob to tell him what happened and he got in his car right away to come meet me. Once Jacob got there my mom left and Jacob and I wait 2 hours to see a doctor.

I should have known I had a bad doctor the second he opened the door and both Jacob and I could not understand him! He then wanted to send me for X rays I said I thought I couldn't do that because I was pregnant to which he replied, "Oh you are pregnant?" That should have been my second clue this was not going to end well. He said he was going to poke me to help relieve the blood pressure (basically this is what was hurting the most by now my finger looked like a purple golf club). He showed me this thing that he was poking me with and it had fire coming out of it...I FREAKED!! He poked me with it, no blood so he poked me again or no blood so he did it a third time. I screamed each time. By now he said oh it will just slowly leak (maybe my 12th clue he was not the best doctor). We paid $75 buck and went home.

My finger still didn't leak so we called Adam to only confirm not only did he do it wrong, but even used a tool that is supposed to go through your nail...not the back of your hand. Needless to say I did not want to go back so we just figured we would keep in contact with Adam. End result a very purple painful fractured finger.

Things I want to forget BUT should remember....

  • NEVER go back to that Urgent Care. I already had one bad experience...this was the second. Chase also had this SAME bad doctor who said his arm was fine only to find out it was broken!
  • Don't close your finger or any other part of your body in a car door...which I know, but I need to be more careful.
  • Maybe the doctor is not the best option for injuries like this, and let it heal on its own...which I have basically done except pay a bad doc $75!!

The first picture is before seeing the doc the 2nd is after...see not a good doctor!!!

These pictures don't make it look bad but trust me it was huge, black and painful.

Wiggle Time

I saw in the Gilbert newsletter that the Perry Branch Library does special reading for younger kids 18 month the 3 years to be exact. I thought this would be something Eli would love so I made plans to head out there. It must be very popular because they passed out tickets super fast, and I barely got one for the time I showed up for, and I was 30 minutes early! While we wait we played and looked at books. I have taken Eli to the library before and he did not look at one book, therefore we are making progress. (Eli loves books at home, so I just think there is too much going on at the library to hold still and read a book) Once the wiggle program started Eli sat well for a few minutes, but then grew concerned. By the end I was standing in the back with him so he would stay calm. I would say he liked it, and we will go back again. The very end was he favorite, because they blew bubbles while singing and he got a stamp of the letter"T".

PS on a funny side note in the picture you can see Eli is wearing his frog rain boots. He loves them!! He saw I was wearing my boots so he went in his closet and grabbed his. He thought if mom is wearing hers I am wearing mine!

Houston Luau

Every year Houston Elementary puts together a carnival or something to make money for the school. This year we decided to attend with the Gilmore's. Eli enjoyed the bouncing toys, the park, candy and walking around. He did not enjoy going down the bouncy slides, however I am thankful for Jerel and Aly for at least making him try it!

27 Weeks

I am now 27 weeks with this little boy (name 99% figured out, but not firm...or maybe who knows) This pregnancy is just flying by so I figured it was time for a things I want to remember post...

Things I want to remember....
  • This pregnancy seems to be flying by. I can't believe that I am entering my 3rd trimester already. It seems the weeks seemed to crawl by when I was pregnant with Eli.
  • This little guy is still pretty chill however just recently he has started to kick a lot more. I have tried to show Eli, but no he thinks it is some sort of game. Also no one else has even felt him kick he just doesn't kick when people put there hands on my tummy.
  • I went to the doctor last week and took my glucose test. Everything came back great however I am a little Anemic with this guy so they have me taking some pills to help with that.
  • Some days I feel like I can't get enough sleep however the past two days I have been staying up so late. I can't even try to think about sleep. I hate this stage because I like sleeping and I know how much of it I will be missing or loosing shortly.
  • I still horribly emotional. I can cry at commercials, the thought of something sad or for no reason. I hold it back really well but my eyes water...poor Jacob. I am not much of crier so when he see this his face is always worried. Except for a few times when he looked at my like I was nuts...I am sure I would have given myself the same look.
  • I started having some major back pains around Valentine's Day. I went to the doctor took it each and now I am feeling much better. I was worried for a while that my back was just going to kill for the next 3 months, and that had me freaking out. I am so happy to be feeling better.

Uh Oh Buddy!!

I was at Sam's today with Eli and he kept saying Buddy, Buddy, over and over again. I kept telling him Buddy was at Mamo's and we could go see him later. Soon Eli's voice started to get more, and more concerned and he kept saying Buddy. Finally I looked at Eli and he pointed in the basket and said "Uh Oh Buddy." I soon realized Eli was pointing at the rotisserie chicken I had bought. He thought it was Buddy....poor guy no wonder he was so worried.

President's Day

Jacob didn't have work this presidents day, and the kids didn't have school we made a fun trip to the park. We started off by riding the train, and carousal. Eli liked the train ride and Jacob and I said we really enjoyed it too. I think it had a lot to do with the Bullet pops we got...they were yummy!! Then we grabbed our bread and fed the ducks. My mom and dad brought Buddy so after a while Eli took over walking him it was cute. He walked him all around the park. Once Eli found the slide he was done with Eli and played there for a while. Then we headed to the Gilmore's car to get the water balloons they had brought. We had a balloon toss and Jacob and I won each time, however the 2nd time it broke all over me so I was wet and freezing!! It was a wonderful trip to the park.

On our way home we say this mini horse so we stopped to let Eli pet it...he really liked it but I think was surprised by the size.
