EWWWW!!!

So every Sunday we go to my families house for our Sunday meal. Well yesterday as I am walking out of my parents house I wasn't really paying attention and I kind of bumped my head on there tree. Not thinking much of it I got into my car and Jacob and I drove off. Well as I am waiting at a light to turn left I see in the review mirror there is something in my hair. I thought one of my bobby pins had moved around so I went to fix it and found a horrible surprise!!! Once I touched it I realized instantly that it was wet and that when I walked under the tree a bird and pooped in my hair!!! Jacob thought this was so funny but all it did was make me sick. I started dry heaving and almost threw up in my car!!! It is so gross even now thinking about it I am getting sick.

Christmas Tree

Jacob was so excited to put up our Christmas tree so right after Thanksgiving we set it up and decorated it. It turned out really cute, but for some reason whenever you take a picture of it you can't see how cute it is....oh well enjoy!

Try to catch up

You might have noticed that our blog has been lacking lately, and I agree. With that being said I think we have a really good excuse why our posts have a lack of luster. About 2 months ago Jacob moved his company into an office building and due to miscommunication Qwest turned of the Internet at our house too! Well once we got that all figured out and fixed with Qwest our computer crashed and died. We decided that we should wait before we bought a new computer. So I haven't been able to upload any of our picture or anything like that. Well lucky for us Jacob's parents had an extra computer at their house, and tada now we have pictures and internet again. Since I haven't updated anyone on what we have been up to I am going to rewind all the way back to October!

In the month of October we celebrated my 3 birthdays. On the 15th is my sister in law Allison's. Allison lives in Milwaukee so as you can guess I don't have too many picture of her. My nephew Austin's birthday is on the 15th as well, and since he lives here in Gilbert I was able to attend his birthday party. I was a lot of fun. He had a unique birthday party with a MAD scientist that came to show science experiments with the children. Austin loves science or anything related to this so he really enjoyed his party. I didn't get a good picture, but this one turned out the best. Austin really enjoyed his 8th birthday, and party. The last birthday in October is on the 16th and that would be my birthday. I had a great day spending some much needed alone time with Jacob. For my birthday my in laws got me golfing lessons. Linda (my mother in law) took them with me and we had a lots of fun. We understand now how some people become obsessed with golf. Since I started liking golf so much my parents got me a new set of golf clubs for my birthday, making me an offical golfer. Now that Jacob and I have both received clubs for our birthdays we decided we needed to play more often. We signed up for monthly passes to Crosswoods Golf, which is an indoor golf facility here in Gilbert where you play simulated golf. I really enjoy this golf since it is in doors you are never too hot wondering where the water cart is. Cecil (my father in law) loves it because you can never loose your ball. Plus it gives you all this interesting feed back on how you are swinging your club. If you play golf I highly recommend you try it out. Linda is a lot of fun to play with because she really gets into it. Cecil and videoed her so you guys can see what we mean. (this is one of her more tame reactions, but it is the only one we have caught so far on camera)

This year for Halloween we stayed at our house and handed out candy. We had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed seeing the neighborhood children all dressed up. Jacob and Buddie dressed up too! Jacob would sit in the chair lifeless and try to scare the children. He only scared a few, but it was well worth the wait. It was so funny. I also took this film of the walk up to our house. We are really proud of how our house was decorated this year. Well that about sums everything up.

My little Pumpernickel

About a month ago my niece Aly came home with some news she was rather excited about. I guess once you are in the 3rd grade you can compete to be in the school spelling bee competition. Each class from 3 grade up gets to pick one student to represent them in the competition. Well my little Wish (that is Aly's nickname) won for her class!! Since Aly has to be perfect at everything she does Aly has been studying and has taking this very seriously. Well today was the day of the big SPELLING BEE! I really wanted to go and support my little spelling super star, but at the same time I was afraid to go because I knew if Aly missed a word she would be so hard on herself and start to cry, which in turn would break my heart too. Well I ended up going because I knew Aly would just rock. I showed up and there she was my sweet little Wish in the front row 2nd speller. The 1st little girl missed her word so it was Aly's turn. They gave her unity to spell and she got it!!! YEAH!!!! I was so excited and happy but then I realized that from now on Aly would be the 1st to spell! YIKES WHAT PRESSURE. (maybe not for her, but it sure was for her mom and me) As the spelling bee went on I realized that she was competing against all the kids in 4th, 5th and 6th grade too!!! Well the 3rd round starts and Aly get the word pumpernickel (Which by the way I just had to spell check) and she got it! This round most of the other children missed there word so it ended up putting Aly in the top 3 with 2 other 6th graders. So there she is my little 3rd grade spelling genius sitting next to two huge 6th graders!!! Well she received her last word toboggan. Which she missed but who cares she got 3rd place against all those other children older then her!!!  I always knew she was a genius, but now I have proof. WAY TO GO ALY WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!

I have been tagged...

My college room mate tagged me on her blog. So here I go.

Six facts about me....

1. I hate feet. I can't look at them, talk about them, and you have to be crazy to think I would touch them. If someone even talks about feet my own hands and feet start to sweat. The more scary the situation or conversation the worst the sweat. The worst is when I was playing volleyball I had to injuries that were one my feet!!! I don't know why I have the fear or disgust, but I do!

2. I love to pinch ear lobes. When I was a baby way before I would walk I would reach up and start pitching my dad's ears. If someone walked up to my dad and touched his ears they would see that the back of his ears are shaped to my finger. I have noticed that I also grind my teeth when I do this. I don't know why but I have to do both. I used to hide this addiction., but as I have gotten older I have started pitched other peoples ear lobes. Those who have known me since I was a baby think is hilarious.

3. Everyone has asked a small children what they want to be when they grow up, and the child will normally answer with something like a fireman police man or something along those lines. Well I was no normal baby. When I was asked this questions I would say, "I want to be a mom, and drive a suburban." I guess I just thought this is what women did.

4. Half of my front tooth is fake. I was at a volleyball tournament, and we stopped to fill up our car with gas before heading to the airport. Well my coach was just outside my window so I thought it would be funny to make funny faces at him through the window. In return he thought it would be funny to hit the window. Well after his did this my front left tooth pretty much shattered!!! I started crying saying I looked like white trash. My team mates were trying to be helpful by saying it wasn't that bad, but after saying that they would whisper to each other not to give me a mirror. When we got back to Arizona we joked that this is what happens on our team when you miss blocks. To this day some girls believe that story is true.

5. My favorite holiday is
Valentine's Day. I just love everything about it, the colors, the surprises, and driving down the street seeing the balloons. Valentine's Day is like Christmas in our house. I just love it.

6. My Favorite website is Best Week Ever. It is a T.V show put on by VH1. It is like the news but delivered by comedians. At the end of the show they award the best week ever to something hilarious or totally random. I just love the show. Well they have a blog at http://bestweekever.tv/ I go there all the time and see all the funny things they post. Even though I love this T.V show my favorite TV show is House. I just love his dry sense of humor.

I tag Brette, Katie, Allison, and Sharisa.

Seeing things "Eye to Eye"

Some of you already know about the on going battle in our home about which type of dog to get. Our problem lies in the simple fact that Jacob loves BIG dogs, and I love little ones. Since we both can't agree on a dog to get we are dogless right now. I was reading the news today and I came across this picture of the worlds smallest dog & the worlds tallest dog. I thought this picture perfectly showed the issue we are having. Jacob obviously likes the dog on the left, and like the dog on the right. Needless to say we want be getting a dog any time soon!

Personality quiz

I just took this personality quiz and I have to admit that I think it is pretty accurate.

You Are An ENTJ

The Executive

You are a natural leader - with confidence and strength that inspires others.
Driven to succeed, you are always looking for ways to gain, power, knowledge, and expertise.
Sometimes you aren't the most considerate person, especially to those who are a bit slow.
You are not easily intimidated - and you have a commanding, awe-inspiring presence.

In love, you hold high standards... for yourself, for your relationship, and for your significant other.
While it's easy for you to impress others, it's hard for you to find someone who impresses you.

At work, you are organized and good at delegating. You understand how to achieve goals.
You would make a great CEO, entrepreneur, or consultant.

How you see yourself: Rational, calm, and objective

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Inflexible, controlling, and overbearing

Updates, updates and One more update

Normally I don't have to much to update everyone, but this week turned out to be a little different. First off my volleyball camp turned out to be a success. I wanted 14 girls to sign up, and guess how many did? 14!!! I am so excited. We just finished our 2nd week and they are already getting so much better. This group is much younger then my group at East Valley so this has been refreshing for me to do. Speaking of East Valley I have started doing Mini Camps with them every Saturday. So I am now coaching every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday; and I am loving every miniute of it. My 2nd update is about Buddy...yes I know Buddy is not a person but since Jacob has been out of town so much on business I have been spending a lot more time with him and therefore I have stories. As you all know Halloween is coming up, which means time for dress up. Well last year Buddy was a ladybug which was nice, but it just didn't fit him. Well this year I found the perfect costume. What do you think?

I just love these pictures they crack me up.
Now on to real people...
My mother's birthday was back in August, and my father got her Jersey Boys tickets. Jacob and I were just in New York in April and saw it so we thought we would see the play again with my parents. The show was last night and we had a blast here are some pictures we took.

Finally my last bit of news is about my new car. Back in July we sold my Mini Cooper (which I still love, and will truly miss) for a more practical family car. We have bounced from car to car, and never could decide on a car both Jacob and I agreed on. Well we finally found one and the winner is...a Mazda 3. I love the car, and I am so glad to be out driving again!!

Why my Children will never have video games...

This morning I stopped by my parents house, and since it is October break my nephew Ethan and My niece Aly were there. I was working on the computer and I hear Aly and Ethan playing on their Nintendo DS. At first the playing starts our cute, with I will help you and protect you. Then things progress to little arguments over who gets what shell...or who knows what. Finally out of the corner of my eye I see shoving and hear them both yelling. Debbie and I let this go one for a little while, but then it started to drive us nuts. We start warning them that if they keep fighting we are going to have to make them stop playing. We obviously were asking to much and we had to take the games away. The following pictures can tell you the rest you need to know.

Countdown to Camp Ash

Well I am finally doing it. I have talked about putting together my own mini camp for YEARS now and I am finally doing it. I started passing out fliers last week Friday and right now I think I have 7 girls signed up. I am hoping to get 14, but I am not too worried because most parents don't turn in everything until the last second. Either way it is going to be lots of fun and I just love volleyball and coaching. Aly my 8 year old niece is one of my players, and yesterday we went to Sports Authority to get the things she will need for camp. Oh my gosh she was so cute in her little spandex. I am so excited to coach her!!! So for the next 6 weeks on Monday's and Wednesday's @ 3:30 to 4:30 you know where you can find me!!! Once I have my first practice I will put up pictures of my cute little camp players.

Why I love photobooth...

So about a year ago my mother randomly came home with a MacBook. She is really into taking pictures, and she found out that they are great to work with when it comes to editing pictures. Well since the MacBook's arrival our family has found the photobooth, and lets just say we are at times addicted. If I am ever having a bad day I will just go through it and find funny pictures to brighten my day. Here are a few of my favorites.

Buddy isn't even safe

Spoiled Dog???

Jacob always laughs at me when I am around Buddy. He thinks it is so funny how my mother and I talk to him. He also finds it hilarious how I hold him. Jacob says that because I do this, I am spoiling him and Buddy thinks he is a real person. Take a look at this picture of Buddy and me, and tell me what you think?

Family Night Out

Whenever there is a holiday or a 3 day weekend the Gilmore's always make fun plans. Last night they made plans to go to dinner and a movie and they invited us along. We went and saw the movie Stardust. I only saw one preview for this movie, but it looked like a movie I would like. Well it turns out the movie is EXCELLENT. It is fun, funny entertaining, and great for all ages. Jacob and I loved it! After the movie we went and had dinner and Charleston's. Dinner was great. I sat by Ethan again and we worked on activities together. We had a wonderful time.

Chase's B-day Dinner

So as you all know Chase turned 13, and therefore it was a perfect excuse to get out and have fun! In my family whenever it is your birthday you get to choose where the family eats that night, as well any activities that may follow. Chase wanted to eat at La Parrilla Suiza. I love this picture because it really shows how my family is. The best part is Lee in the back left. I wonder what he saw?

This picture was to cute not to put up and share. Ethan sat next to me and we had some very interesting conversations. One topic of conversation was that Ethan could open his mouth up very wide. So to prove his point he showed me...which I was more than happy to take a picture of. Needless to say we had a wonderful time, and probably ate too much! Unfortunately Jacob missed Chase's birthday dinner because he was out of town on business. He was missed.

I thought I was going to die...

Well, Jacob and I just got back from his families Mountain Ranch, and the title explains it all. First off there is no electricity! Isn't that amazing I have never been anywhere like that. (There was gas so it was basically like using lanterns) Second, Jacob kept trying to make me less of a city girl. For example he took me hand fishing. That's right, Jacob goes fishing with his hands. NUTS! I saw him catch like five, otherwise I would have never believed it. Then he would take me on all these hikes. Now I know people do this stuff all the time, and I myself did it when I was younger, but seriously these mountains were straight up. The first of the hard hikes was to water dog. Straight up a mountain side. Then there was a lake at the top where all the boys went swimming. Jacob is so crazy I found a leech in the water and he kept swimming even though there were tons of them. Then the next day he wanted me to hike again. This time to a train station about 4 1/2 miles from his cabin. I thought for sure this one I could do until I realized I had to walk back. I was so tired. He kept telling me every time "no this hike is easier then the last one". So me being the trusting wife that I am I would get suckered into yet another hike. At the end of the day I have to admit that I did have a great time, and I just love his entire family. I am glad I went up and made these memories, but I think it will be a while before I am ready for "camping" again.

Molly just did a talk in sharing time, and sang a song as well! She did such a great job we are so proud of her. Alex is the newest addition to our class. He just moved here from Las Vegas. We look forward to getting to know him. Each of them are so much fun and have such sweet spirits. We love each and everyone one of them!

Mahalo

Ku'uipa

*That means my Sweetheart in Hawaiian*

Here is Jacob at the Hukilau Cafe. It is the restaurant in the movie 50 1st dates! They didn't use the real restaurant, but they did build and fake one a paid this one to use it's name. It is very fun to eat there, because you can have a very traditional Hawaiian breakfast. Jacob had Fried rice and eggs. He even tried SPAM! I was boring and got Potatoes and Eggs. ( I liked Jacob's better)

Here I am in front of the restaurant. We were scared there for a second because if you look at the picture is was raining. That would have been a sad story if it rain the whole time we were there!

Mahalo to Everyone at Brewer-Caldwell!

Me Ke Aloha, Ash's
