Happy Birthday Eli!!

Pioneer day

This past weekend we went up north to celebrate the 24th of July which is pioneer day. We were originally going to leave on Thursday morning, but since I had boot camp and Eli had one more swimming lesson we pushed back our departure. We left Friday afternoon after Eli's swimming lesson (which he is doing great at). We got to the cabin and just relaxed until the Gilmore's got there in the early evening. We ate dinner and then went for a walk which ended up with Eli getting the creek and riding in his blue truck naked. I am sure he just loved the freedom of that! The next morning we got up pretty early and drove to snowflake for the parade. Poor Eli got a bad eye again and it was watering so bad. Luckily my uncle bill was able to call in a prescription so we all headed off to Showlow to get him some eye drops. Everyone wanted to go to Showlow anyway for lunch and get some DQ. Steph and Jerel say that DQ in Showlow is the best one around. I got a root beer freeze and poured some in a cup for Eli he went CRAZY! He loved it and I honestly have not seen him go that crazy over something since he was a tiny baby. After our desert we went and hung out on Uncle Gayle's land with some family. Eli went and saw cows and horses and was a nice dirty boy. Then we headed to Uncle Doug's where he made yummy green Chile we played games. After games Jacob went to the Rodeo which he said was a blast and I went Steph and Doug's family to watch Mark (Becky's husband) perform at his 20 year reunion. Mark did a great job and it was very funny. We finished off the night by watching the fireworks on tee box across from the temple. It was such a pretty view with the temple and the fireworks. We had a great trip!!

Rain!

So last night we had the biggest thunderstorm EVER!! I couldn't believe how loud the thunder was, and all the lightening. I normally LOVE it when it does this, however the whole night I was worried about Eli and that he would scare him. Around 5 am Eli woke up crying (not cause he was scared) I figured I would do better if he was in bed with me. So I moved him in our bed and then when he got up I took him outside and let him look at the rain. It was really cute. I know it has rained since Eli's birth, but this was the 1st time he actually saw it coming down and stuff. I wonder what he thought of it...

p.s I loved that top picture how everything around Eli was blurry...also the last one is cute because that is Jacob driving away and Eli would not get in the water, but then he saw him dad and he didn't care, he wanted to go with Jacob!

Ethan turns 6

Ethan's birthday was today. Since his Chase has been having a lot of games, and Ethan's birthday fell on a Sunday his parents gave him the option of not having the party, but having the party money. Ethan really liked that idea, and did not have a party. However we always have a birthday dinner so Ethan picked the meal for us to cook and we had dessert. Afterwords we played with one of Ethan's new toys. It was like a magnifying glass that shows everything on your TV. We had fun putting it on everything from our skin to inside or ears. We had a fun time on Ethan's big day!

This little boy makes me laugh...

Eli has been doing the cutest funniest things for a while now, and I forgot to write about them. So in an attempt to remember how fun and funny this boy is here are a few things he does that get us laughing.

• He fake laughs. That's right whenever there is someone and they laugh out loud Eli will follow up with a little laugh of his own. This even works when it is on TV. He will not even be watching it, but then hear people laugh so he will stop look up and start laughing too!!


• Eli also play peek a boo. I know all babies do this, but Eli started taking towels and things like that to play with after his baths. Or hide behind something and then pop out. Oh he is funny. Jacob and I also scare him a lot for fun so I have noticed he tries to do it too. He will come around a corner all fast with a smile and make and noise...so funny.


• He mimics us. For example yesterday I felt really nauseous so I make like a yulk ewww noise and two seconds later Eli does the same thing.


• Now this is the best thing (ok after the fake laugh I am pretty sure that is my fav) Eli yodools. I don't know where he got this from but ever since Memorial day Eli will make this funny yodool sound lie lowlee lowlee he does it a lot when he gets really excited or when he hears us do it. I just was reading this to Jacob and Eli hears me and started doing it. Oh man I love this little boy.

4th of July

This 4th we decided to escape the hot valley and head up to the cabin. Eli has only been to the cabin 1 other time, and he was very little so I was very excited to see what he thought of the mountains.

Our adventure starts with driving up north with Mamo and Buddy on Thursday night. I was worried Eli was going to cry because if he is in his seat for more then 30 minutes he starts going a little crazy. Since my mom and Buddy were in the back with him we had no problems. Eli even feel asleep on the way up with a little chicken nugget in his hand. It was so funny because he would be asleep and then all the sudden wake up and take a bit. Friday we just hung around the cabin and waited for the Gilmore's to get there. We went for walks, and ate and Creekside. I also learned just how much Eli likes to eat corn off the cob.

Saturday we woke up and got ready really fast to make it to the parade in Showlow. Eli and I wore USA colors to be festive with the holiday. Eli loved the parade and sitting in his blue truck. After the parade we headed to snowflake and hung out at Uncle Doug's house for the rest of the day. There were rides on 4 wheelers, forts, playing in sand, green chili, golf, and games. We had a wonderful time! On the way back we stopped in Heber to watch the fireworks. This was a funny experience because we were a little late, and the cops were not to nice to us, but in the end we won and got to watch the fireworks. I have decided that Herber police are not too nice!

Sunday we went to the lake and hiked. Ethan caught a crawdad and showed it to Eli. Eli liked it and I am sure if we let him hold it he would have tried to eat it. We went for a hike and that didn't last long because Eli started to fall asleep in his little truck. It was so cute to watch his little head bob up and down trying so hard to stay awake.

Oh yeah and Eli loved to be outside. If he could he would be outside all day long. He did not like pine needles, but he loved to throw pine cones!

I got pulled over!

Last week I wanted to go to the mall. I was over at my parents house and the kids (Gilmore's, Navaro's, and Austin) all wanted to come with me. This was a little problem because my car only hold 5 people but I figured I would chance it and take them all anyway. Well no sooner did I pull out of my parents neighborhood did I notice that a cop was right behind me. To make a long story short I tried to avoid him, but he pulled me over. Aly was sitting with Ethan and Saddie was sitting with Noah. The two sisters quickly cover up their brother's by sitting on them. The cop came up to my window informed me my dealer plates were canceled and that is why he pulled me over. He took my info and went back to his car. I looked back wondering why the cop didn't say anything about all the bodies and I honestly could not see the the two boys. Then closely looking I could see Noah's little leg and Ethan's eye ball. The cop took my plate and let me leave. HE NEVER SAW THE TWO BOYS!! As we were driving away the kids all let out a big sigh and we all talked about how scared we were. It was so funny and scary at the same time.
